Confined Space Entry
Our personnel adhere to the applicable guidelines found in 29 CFR 1910.146 for confined space which governs such work. Services include cleaning of both above ground and underground storage tanks, railroad tank cars, baghouses, silos, process vessels, process pits, chemical reactors, mixers, vats and other various confined space entry required items.
    Acid Manufacturer - Mid-West
  • Removal of approximately 1,100 gallons of 96% concentrated sulfuric acid sludge from within a 5,000 gallon acid storage tank used for site waste water treatment.
  • Prepped the immediate areas outside the tank with plastic and elevated the staging cell for containment drums in order to centralize the work area and help prevent cross contamination of non impacted areas within the facility.
  • Application of approved caustic cleaner to neutralize interior surfaces of the tank to a pH of 7.
  • Triple rinsed neutralized sulfuric acid tank. Following decontamination, tank was removed for installation of new tank.
  • All waste sludge and rinseate containerized, characterized and off site disposed.

Rail Cars - Mid-West
  • Sixteen rail cars operated by this lead production facility were impacted with lead oxide requiring decontamination before decommissioning.
  • Utilizing HEPA filtration vacuums, all available lead product was recovered from the 16 rail cars, containerized and returned to the client for processing within the facility.
  • Interior surfaces of rail containers pre-treated with a heavy metal extraction cleaner (“d-lead”) prior to double rinse with high pressure hot water. All rinsate was collected and containerized onsite for disposal.
  • All decontaminated rail containers were returned to owner for decommissioning.
