VIASANT was contracted to decontaminate and demolish this former industrial dry cleaning chemicals site in preparation for residential development. Initial scope activities required large scale ACM abatement and the collection of universal wastes.
The demolition phase of the project included demolition of two-story brick and block buildings, associated support and manufacturing structures, concrete pads & footers, and the removal of concrete/asphalt over the impacted soil areas.
VIASANT performed extensive on-site segregation of C&D materials to comply with the City’s requirements to recycle the majority of wood, concrete and brick waste. VIASANT coordinated the off-site shipment of over 400 loads of C&D materials to multiple landfill and recycling operations.
Subsequent scope items included the cleaning and removal of 2 UST’s containing various dry cleaning solvents, excavation of approximately 16,155 tons of PAH and metals impacted soils, and the on-site treatment of 660 tons (lead).
VIASANT coordinated the off-site transportation and disposal of impacted soils, C&D materials and recyclables. |
