Superfund Site - North-East |
- VIASANT is currently completing a series of Remedial Elements associated with this large scale Superfund Site in EPA Region 2.
- The primary scope of work for completing Remedial Elements I & II of the ROD addresses complete source removal (soil and subsurface features) in order to achieve specified cleanup criteria for metals (Cd and Cr), and Semi Volatile organic contaminants.
- Specific remedial activities include extensive waste characterization sampling and analysis, impacted soil excavation to depths in excess of 16 feet bgs, on-site management and off-site disposal of excavated soils as both hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams, backfill and site restoration.
- This current phase of work will generate in excess of 5,000 tons of offsite removal, with the entire project totaling in excess of 80,000 tons.
- Upon completion in the Spring of 2009 the property will be redeveloped into a combination of mixed commercial use, public parks, and open green space.
