VIASANT crews demolished a 200’ tall furnace and other large structures at this DRI Plant utilizing conventional tripping of the structure.
An engineered controlled drop approach was used for secondary safety controls and to control the release of dust.

3,000 tons of steel was being removed and all scrap was prepared to a 3’ minus mill spec.
All castable and refractory brick was transported by VIASANT and placed in a designated area for temporary storage at the plant.
All construction and demolition debris, including 3,000 tons of waste, was transported and disposed off-site.
