VIASANT has recently completed decontamination, demolition and dismantlement activities at this former adhesives manufacturing facility in Lewisville, Texas. The scope of services included decontamination and equipment removal in four manufacturing buildings, one warehouse and the removal of exterior silo structures.

Utilizing a 3,000 psi high pressure hot water unit and HEPA vacuum units VIASANT crews decontaminated interior overhead surfaces of manufacturing areas, transfer pipes and machinery. Drum vacuum units were deployed to collect and transfer rinse waters to the onsite storage tank for characterization, permitting and discharge to the local POTW.  

Manufacturing equipment including mix tanks, storage vessels, process lines and packaging lines were decontaminated, dismantled and removed.  Dismantlement activities were completed by manual and hot cutting procedures while utilizing manlifts, fork trucks and excavators with hydraulic “thumb” attachments to access, transport, load and process individual pieces of equipment and structures. Additionally, applicable mezzanines, floor plates, walls and ceiling sections were removed as necessary to properly complete equipment removal.   All removed equipment was either processed on site as scrap or palletized and loaded onto trucks for shipment to other facilities.  

Following decontamination and equipment removal, restoration activities included wall and ceiling replacement, applicable OSHA approved hand rail installation where mezzanines and equipment were removed, floor plate replacement, concrete restoration, and additional decontamination of exterior concrete sections with visual discoloration.
