  • Removal of process equipment, production piping and all transfer lines and universal waste
  • Select demolition of exterior silos, baghouses, tanks and air handling equipment
  • Collection of remaining virgin sulfuric acid and neutralization of the 4” overhead transfer system
  • Equipment decontaminated, dismantled and shipped off site to active facilities for reuse

VIASANT performed complete facility decommissioning activities to help facilitate the property sale of this former specialty, deep-cycling and enhanced cranking battery manufacturing facility.
Project activities included the removal of process equipment, production piping and all transfer lines and universal waste as well as select demolition of exterior silos, baghouses, tanks and air handling equipment.

Due to the specialty equipment and higher concentration of acid utilized in spiralcell battery technology, initial activities included collection of remaining virgin sulfuric acid and neutralization of the 4” overhead transfer system throughout the 85,000sf manufacturing area.

Additionally, the acid filling and bulk storage system were neutralized and decontaminated for proper dismantlement and shipment off site for disposal.

Following sulfuric acid work, all assembly, COS, drying, chilling and charging equipment was decontaminated, dismantled and shipped off site for disposal or delivery to active facilities for reuse.

In completion of the scope of work, the remaining superstructure and production surfaces were decontaminated through high pressure hot water blasting and all rinse waters collected, analyzed and shipped off site for treatment/disposal as necessary.
